Experience a farm to table lunch & winery visit!
Take a ride through the dairy farm at Kreider’s, see the cows on the carousel and learn everything there is to know about fresh milk! Next you are off to Mt Hope Estates and Winery for a Farm to Table dining experience. The chef will create a family style meal with the freshest local ingredients. Enjoy a wine tasting and tour of the winery after lunch. Lastly, explore the famous Roots Markets and pick up your own fresh local goods to take home.

8:00 AM Depart Sam’s Club, Mechanicsburg,
8:30 AM Depart Weis Markets, Linglestown Road, Harrisburg
9:15 AM Kreider Dairy Farm Tour ~ Experience the sights, sounds and smells of a real, working dairy farm on the Kreider Farms tour. This tour features a high-tech view of farming, including a drive down the middle of the "Cow Palace" barn and a bird's eye view of the milking carousel where they milk 1700 cows, 3 times every day. Filled with facts and humor, the Kreider Farms tour is fun for all!
10:30 AM Depart for Mt Hope Estates and Winery. Here you will enjoy the Chef’s selection of a farm to table family style luncheon in the beautifully restored historic barn. Enjoy the narration from the fun-hearted actors as they guide you through the history of agriculture of Lancaster County. After lunch we will take a tour of the winery and enjoy a dedicated wine tasting. Take some time to shop for your favorites to take home.
2:00 PM Depart for Root’s Market. Be sure to bring a cooler we can place under the bus for items you may want to purchase. Root's Market, home of the oldest single family-run country market in Lancaster County. From its humble beginnings as a poultry auction in 1925, Root's Market has evolved over the years to become a piece of Lancaster County heritage offering fresh food and a wide variety of items for sale.
