6:00 AM Depart Weis Markets 4300 Linglestown Road, Harrisburg 6:45 AM Depart Queensgate Shopping Plaza, York 7:15 AM Depart Maryland Park & Ride, Parkton
10:00AM Visit the National Cathedral - Explore the must-see details of the Cathedral’s dramatic art and architecture with a guided tour tailored for first-time visitors. You will have a 30-minute guided tour of the nave (main level) and may view the crypt (lower level) after.
11:30 AM Approximate arrival at Hillwood. Enjoy a guided Mansion Tour. Marjorie Merriweather Post bought Hillwood in 1955 and soon decided her home would be a museum that would inspire and educate the public. Her northwest Washington, D.C. estate endowed the country with the most comprehensive collection of Russian imperial art outside of Russia, a distinguished 18th-century French decorative art collection, and twenty-five acres of serene landscaped gardens and natural woodlands for all to enjoy.
We’ll enjoy an elegant 3 course luncheon here as well.
Lastly we will visit the United State Botanic Garden, Steeped in history, rich with tradition, the United States Botanic Garden (USBG) is a living plant museum that informs visitors about the importance, and often irreplaceable value, of plants to the well-being of humans and to earth's fragile ecosystems.
5:00 PM Depart for home with a Rest / meal stop en route 'on own'
