Day 1

Depart from Waynesboro. Today you will travel as far as Florence South Carolina where you will enjoy a welcome dinner and stay overnight. (D)


Day 2

Breakfast at the hotel followed by checkout and depart for St Augustine Florida, where you will enjoy a narrated Trolley ride and time to explore this historic city. The Trolley Tour of the Historic District is a hop on hop off tour that allows you to go at your leisure. With 22 stops including the Old Jail, the City Gates, Museums, St Augustine Distillery, San Sebastian Winery, A Chocolate Shop, the Fountain of Youth and so much more, there is something for everyone. You can spend a while exploring the area or just enjoy the 90 minute narrated tour without getting off. Independent dinner. Overnight here. (B)


Day 3

Breakfast at the hotel followed by checkout and depart for Kissimmee, FL - Independent Lunch at Boggy Creek Airboat Adventures and Boggy Creek Admission, Airboat Ride & Native American Presentation - Set in an enchanted 32-acre landscaped park with lighted brick pathways along the shore of a beautiful lake where nature is abounding. View juvenile alligators for an up-close and personal view of Florida’s favorite reptile. Stop by the old swamp shack, See an authentic Native American village replica featuring the rooms of each member of a traditional Native family and how they survived on the swamps. View wildlife and enjoy whisking across the water at speeds up to 45 mph while shooting between walls of tall grass. Depart for Fort Myers, FL and check into The Drury Hotel for 4 Nights. Tonight you are on your own for dinner, but keep in mind the Drury host a free evening “kickback” that includes food, beer, wine and beverages, 5:30-7:30 each evening with a different menu each night. Later we are off to see a show at the Broadway Palm Dinner Theatre – ’Greater Tuna’ .


Day 4

Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel before departing for Captiva Island, FL. Useppa Island Cruise - Useppa Island is an exclusive private island club community with picturesque white cottages, pink pathways and lush tropical vegetation. The only way to visit this exclusive destination is to be a member of the island club, the guest of a member of the club, or a passenger of Captiva Cruises. This “must-see” island paradise is filled with history and beauty! Enjoy an independent lunch at the Collier Inn, visit the Barbara Sumwalt History Museum and take a leisurely stroll through the island’s lush garden paths. Next depart for Fort Myers, FL where you will have a Guided Historic Walking Tour of Downtown – this tour entertains you with narratives of local history, and acquaints you with the colorful personalities of the founders of Fort Myers. Enjoy the Kickback at the Drury tonight. (B/KB)


Day 5

Enjoy Breakfast at the hotel before departing for Sanibel Island, FL, here you will visit J. N. “Ding” Darling National Wildlife Refuge located on the subtropical barrier island of Sanibel in the Gulf of Mexico and take a 90-minute Tram Tour, have time for an independent Lunch, Tour the Bailey-Matthews National Shell Museum - Learn about mollusks from around the world, including the Giant Pacific Octopus, cuttlefish, sea hares, inhabitants of the Great Barrier Reef, fighting conchs, and the rare Junonia. Pop up into the middle of our oyster bed, then engage with animals in two touch pools. Take a break and enjoy a short film about the mollusks of Sanibel. The movie plays continuously during the day. Depart for a return to the hotel with a stop at Sun Harvest Citrus – Florida is known for its citrus fruit, so we’ll squeeze in a visit here whose roots date back to 1940. Tonight you are on your own for dinner, but keep in mind the Drury host a free evening “kickback” that includes food, beer, wine and beverages. 5:30-7:30 each evening.


Day 6

Enjoy Breakfast at the Hotel before departing for a visit to the Edison & Ford Winter Estates, here you will enjoy seeing the winter residences of famous inventors Thomas Edison and Henry Ford. There are historical buildings, award-winning gardens, the Edison Botanic Research Lab and the Inventions Museum. The museum has hundreds of inventions, artifacts and special exhibits. Grab a bite to eat “on your own” in the café., This afternoon we’ll give you some beach time. And a free evening to do as you please.


Day 7

Enjoy Breakfast at the Hotel followed by checkout. Depart for Sarasota, FL and a visit to the Ringling Estate – Includes entry to the Museum of Art, Circus Museum, Bayfront Gardens, and a self-guided walk-through of the 1st floor of Ca’d’Zan. This evening check into a local Hotel for 1 night and enjoy a local dinner.

Day 8

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel before check out. Before leaving Sarasota, enjoy the Sea Encounter Cruise - Join a marine biologist on this 1 hour, 45 minute cruise through Sarasota and Roberts Bay. Observe our Florida manatees and resident population of bottlenose dolphins while learning about the ecology, history, and folklore of the area. Your guide will lead you on a short nature walk on an uninhabited island followed by a unique opportunity to view pelicans, herons, ibis and egrets in their nesting habitat. The highlight of this trip is the collection of a sample of marine life with a trawl net. Observe and handle some of the curious residents of Sarasota Bay: puffer fish, sea horses, stone crabs, and cow fish to name a few. Depart for Tarpon Springs with a Lunch stop en route “on own”. Arrive at the Sponge Docks – Enjoy the Sponge Diver Cruise - Take a fun 40-minute cruise on the Anclote River. As you travel, your Captain relates the history of the area sponge diving industry, providing a hands-on display of the various types of sponges and their uses. The highlight of the tour is watching a sponge diver in a traditional inflated sponge diving suit descend from the boat into the river. You can watch as he moves quickly across the river floor. He harvests a live sponge and returns with it to the boat. Explore the Sponge docks, shops and grab a bite to eat on your own. The Sponge Industry helped build a Greek Community that is now famous not only for the world's finest sponges, but for some of the finest Greek Restaurants, Markets, and Bakeries in the Country. Find it all at the Sponge Docks. Depart for Wesley Chapel, FL - Check into your hotel for a 1 night stay.


Day 9

Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel followed by checkout. Depart for St. Simons Island, GA where you will have time for an Independent Lunch in Pier Village, Depart for Florence, SC, Check into a Local Hotel for 1 Night and an Independent Dinner.


Day 10

Enjoy breakfast at the Hotel followed by checkout, Depart for Colonial Heights, VA where you will have time for an independent lunch at Southpark Mall – Chick-Fil-A and more in the food court. Depart for home with a stop for dinner on your own en route.
Arrive in Waynesboro approximately 6:00 PM
