Depart this morning for Ladew Topiary Gardens in Monkton, Maryland. Here you will take a guided tour of the Manor House. Created by self-taught gardener, Harvey S. Ladew. Stroll through the 15 themed “garden rooms” across 22 acres of his Maryland property, and visit the stately Manor House which he transformed from an old white farmhouse. After your guided tour you will have time to explore the gardens on your own. Afterwards, travel to Woody’s Crab House where you will enjoy a delicious lunch including: soup (Maryland Crab or Crab Bisque), salad with Balsamic or Ranch dressing, entrée (Crab Cake or Grilled Chicken Breast), baked potato, steamed vegetable medley, roll, chef’s choice dessert, and non-alcoholic beverage. With full bellies you will head to Dove Valley Winery, a multi-generational, 100-acre family farm. Owners, Harry and Janet Hepbron, planted the first vines in 1998, becoming the first vineyard in Cecil County. Their dream was to create a family legacy - a flourishing wine business that will be handed down to future generations. Relax as you learn about Dove Valley Vineyard’s array of wines and enjoy a tasting of their wines in your keepsake glass. You'll then begin your journey home, but that's not all for the day! You'll enjoy one final stop for a sweet treat at Maplehofe Dairy!
