Spend the day learning about the colonial history of Annapolis! Trave to Maryland's state capital. Your first stop will be at the Maryland State House for a 75 minute guided tour. Learn about the oldest state capitol in continuous use and the only state house to ever serve as the nation's capitol. The Continental Congress met here from November 1783 to August 1784. During that time, George Washington resigned as commander-in-chief of the Continental Army and the Treaty of Paris was ratified, marking the official end of the Revolutionary War. Afterwards, enjoy lunch at the historic Maryland Inn, also founded in 1772! Finally relax aboard the classic Harbor Queen for a narrated cruise of the Annapolis Harbor. Hear the history of the Naval Academy, Annapolis’ role as a historic seaport, the region’s waterways, and catch a glimpse of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge before heading home.
