9:30 AM Arrive at the Homes & Gardens area of Alexandria for exploring on your own. Alexandria, has one of the nicest home and garden tours in Virginia’s annual statewide Garden Week, spread over 2 weeks every April. You’ll have all day to see the gardens and explore Alexandria’s historic downtown. You’ll step through the gates of some of Virginia’s most beautiful gardens and homes. There’s formal gardens, walled gardens, cottage gardens, herb gardens, water gardens and even secret gardens!
