Innsbruck - Seefeld - Innsbruck:
This morning, it’s your choice! Join a cultural Innsbruck tour featuring a scenic drive past the Bergisel Ski Jump and along Maria-Theresien-Strasse before exploring the charming Old Town. See the Imperial Palace courtyard, St. Jacob’s Cathedral, and the iconic Golden Roof as your guide shares the city’s Habsburg history -OR- ascend to the breathtaking Nordkette.* Ride the funicular and cable car to Seegrube, nearly 6300 feet above sea level, where sweeping views of the Inn Valley and surrounding Alpine peaks await. After lunch on your own, journey by train to the idyllic village of Seefeld at 3600 feet above sea level. Breathe in the crisp Alpine air before climbing aboard a horse-drawn carriage, complete with a warming schnapps. Enjoy an interactive strudel-making (and tasting!) before returning to Innsbruck for an evening at leisure.

Sip glühwein, sample stollen, and watch for the appearances of St. Nicholas and even Krampus. This evening, you may choose to attend an optional Tyrolean dinner and folklore*** show.

Innsbruck - Oberammergau, Germany - Innsbruck, Austria:
Tour Linderhof Palace, the only palace out of three that King Ludwig II lived to see completed. Walk the extraordinary halls, inspired by Versailles, with an expert guide and learn about Bavaria’s "Fairy-Tale King". Join a local guide for a tour of Munich, passing landmarks such as the Royal Square and the Parliament Building. Close your day by celebrating your journey with a farewell dinner before retiring to your hotel near Munich Airport.

The overall activity level of this tour is a level 2. This means you like a balanced approach to travel. Walking two to three miles over the course of a day is no problem for you. You can handle a variety of terrains, from cobblestone streets to moderate hills with relative ease and without assistance. You can climb two flights of stairs with ease. Expect some full days balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. You can handle altitudes up to 6,000 feet. While this level is appropriate for travelers that require mobility assistance devices, there could be times when you may have to sit out on some of the included activities.

 

Travel with an average of 37 people (maximum of 44).

 

Linderhof Palace does not have an elevator in the palace, however, a mobile stair climbing aid is available.

 

There is minimal walking at Nordkette Alpine experience, but you should feel comfortable navigating slight inclines and altitudes in winter conditions.

Traveling to Seefeld by train, you must be able to step on and off the train independently.

 

Sightseeing often takes place outdoors in winter conditions, which may include cold temperatures, rain, snow, or icy walks.

Nordkette Alpine Experience (Choice on Tour): Conditions at Seegrube are significantly colder than in the city, with possible snow, ice, and wind. Warm layers, a winter coat, gloves, and sturdy, non-slip footwear are essential.

 

You will be traveling during the heart of a European winter. Expect cold temperatures, likely between 23°F to 41°F, with potential for rain, snow, and icy conditions. Proper footwear and layered clothing are essential for your comfort and safety. Market visits are primarily outdoor experiences and subject to winter weather conditions. Alpine routes may be affected by snow or ice.

 

Nordkette Alpine Experience (Choice on Tour) is an ascend from Innsbruck to nearly 6300 feet/1920 meters above sea level for Alpine views. The experience takes approximately 2 to 3 hours.

 

Linderhof Palace is located at an altitude of approximately 3280 feet/1000 meters above sea level.

 

The day you visit Salzburg will be one of the longest days of this tour as it takes about 3 hours each way to get there from Innsbruck.

 

Salzburg Old Town does not allow coaches to access the center of town, so travelers should anticipate walking at least 0.5 miles in order to reach Old Town for the city tour and lunch.

 

While traveling to Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau, you may expect to spend up to 2 hours on the coach.

 

****Due to unforeseen schedule changes, witnessing the performance of the Glockenspiel might not be possible.

 

Visits to Linderhof Palace and Oberammergau may occur in a different order than indicated in the published itinerary due to operational considerations, local scheduling, or in the event of public holidays. In some cases, alternative arrangements may be necessary; however, all included sightseeing will be provided whenever possible.

 

**Due to weather conditions, Mirabell Gardens may be closed to the public.

 

Due to annual fluctuations of the opening dates of some Christmas markets and tour scheduling, if one is unavailable on a specific departure, other regional Christmas markets may be substituted.

 

*At Nordkette, the views are dependent on weather, and cable car operations are subject to mountain weather.

 

***The Tyrolean folklore dinner and show may be scheduled on another evening than the one indicated in the itinerary.

 

Christmas markets and historic town centers in Innsbruck, Salzburg, and Munich are popular and can be busy, especially in the late afternoon and evening.

 

Hotel check-in on your day of arrival is 3:00 p.m. Rooms may not be available prior to that time.

 

Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Single rate subject to change based on availability. Triple rooms are not available.

 

Travel to Seefeld includes a scenic regional train ride. Seating is open and may not be together as a group.

 

To complete your tour, we include round-trip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing our airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times.

 

For air-inclusive reservations, the name provided at time of booking must match your government-issued ID that will be used during travel. Name changes are subject to penalties.

 

Our air travelers will arrive into and depart from Munich, Germany airport. All transfers will depart from/return to this airport. Approximate travel time between Innsbruck, Austria and Munich is 2 hours.

 

Due to tour scheduling, arrival flights should arrive prior to 4:00 p.m.

 

Prepaid tipping is not available on our tours therefore payment of customary end-of-trip gratuities for your Tour Manager, driver, hotel housekeepers, and cruise ship waitstaff should be handled individually when applicable during the course of your tour.

 

Economy air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.

 

Travel Requirements:

Passports are required for this tour at your expense. Certain countries require that your passport be valid at least 6 months beyond the dates of your travel. IMPORTANT: We recommend that travelers take a photocopy of their passport and applicable visas. It should be packed separately from your actual passport and visa. We also recommend leaving a copy at home with your emergency contact.

 

Collette will provide all necessary information, updates, and supporting documents for your travel requirements, including visa and Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETAs), if required, approximately 60-90 days prior to your departure.

A deposit of $698 per person is due upon reservation. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservations made after the seat reduction date of May 26, 2027 are based upon availability. Final payment due by September 02, 2027. Deposits are refundable up until June 02, 2027.
