Day 1
6:00 AM Depart Sam’s Club, Mechanicsburg, PA
6:30 AM Depart AT Home Store, Harrisburg
Today you will travel to Portsmouth Rhode Island and visit the Green Animals Topiary Garden. Part of the Newport Mansions Preservation Society, this garden is home to more than 80 topiary animals and other figures. Blazing with colorful flowers to enjoy.
Check into your Warwick RI Hotel and enjoy a local dinner.
Day 2
After breakfast at the hotel depart for Newport, where you’ll enjoy tours of the Breaker’s, Rosecliff and Elms Mansions. There will be time for Lunch ’on your own' at the Breakers Café.
*The Breakers Mansion is the grandest of Newport’s summer ‘cottages’ and a symbol of the Vanderbilt’s pre-eminence in the Gilded Age.
*Rosecliff was built for silver heiress Theresa Fair Oelrichs, who used it to host many fabulous Gilded Age entertainments. Architect Stanford White modeled Rosecliff after the Grand Trianon, the garden retreat of French kings at Versailles.
*The Elms was modeled after an 18th-century French chateau but featured the latest technology of the Gilded Age. It houses an outstanding collection of paintings, statuary and tapestries, and its landscape features formal gardens, terraces, pavilions and fountains.
Enjoy a local dinner tonight.
Day 3
After breakfast this morning, we will check out and head ‘up the coast’ to the Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens. Located on over 300 acres on the MidCoast, the gardens are a true Maine Experience. Opened in 2007 as The People’s Garden with areas for all ages and abilities to enjoy a meaningful connection to plants and nature at their own pace. After our visit here we’ll travel towards Bar Harbor Maine and stay overnight nearby. Enjoy a local included dinner tonight.
B, DDay 4
We’ll depart for Bar Harbor early this morning, where you will enjoy a Puffins and Lighthouse Cruise before enjoying ’Time on your own' in this beautiful location.
*Your 3 hour cruise takes you into Frenchman’s Bay and the Gulf of Maine to see the Puffins, Wildlife Refuse and 3 lighthouses.
In Bar Harbor you may choose to do another tour or cruise available locally, explore the water front shops and some of Maine and New England’s best restaurants, each offering its own one-of-a-kind experience. The freshest seafood. Home-grown produce. Craft beer, wine, and cocktails and locally roasted coffee. It’s all here for the taking. We’ll run 2 trips back to the hotel one at 6PM & 8PM.
Day 5
After breakfast at the hotel we’ll depart for Kennebunk Maine, where we’ll visit Wallingford Farm Garden Center and Store to shop and stretch our legs before lunch at Duffy’s Tavern. Departing for Stockbridge Massachusetts for an overnight stay.
B, LDay 6
Enjoy a hot breakfast at the hotel before we check out.
This morning we’ll explore the Berkshire Botanical Gardens before departing for home.
The Berkshire Botanical Gardens was established in 1934 and revered as one of the older public display gardens in the Northeast, encompassing 24 acres featuring dozens of display areas that are educational f unctional and highly ornamental. A Box Lunch is included to enjoy at the Garden
