The overall activity level of this tour is a level 3. This means youre an onthe-go traveler. You dont want to miss a thing, so walking and standing for longer periods of time (2-3 hours) isnt a big deal. A moderately paced twoand-a-half-hour walking tour, covering several miles, hills, and uneven surfaces, is no problem for you. Walking four miles over the course of a day is very doable, as is climbing into and out of various modes of transportation (tuk-tuk, cable car, zodiac, etc.). You can climb three flights of stairs easily and handle altitudes between 6,000 and 9,000 feet. Expect some longer days with early mornings or late nights balanced with free time to recharge or set out on your own adventure. This level is not a fit for travelers who require mobility assistance devices.
Travel with an average of 37 people (maximum of 44).
Travelers must be in good health as sightseeing requires walking in uneven terrain. If you require any special assistance while on tour, please make us aware at the time of reservation so the necessary request form can be sent to your attention.
Wheelchairs and walkers cannot be accommodated on this tour.
Costa Ricas tropical climate brings warm temperatures, high humidity, and frequent rainfall. Rainy season typically runs from May through November, with frequent showers often in the afternoons. Due to the bumpy, winding roads and long drives in Costa Rica, this tour may be uncomfortable for anyone with back or neck issues. The roads in Costa Rica are notoriously poor and impacted by heavy rains each season, making them bumpy and requiring lower driving speeds.
To experience all that we have included on this tour, we will spend an average of 4-5 hours on your coach to travel to your next stay, sometimes on winding and unpaved roads. There are 4 full sightseeing days on this tour when you depart the hotel at 9:00 a.m. and do not return until 4:00 or 5:00 p.m. Additionally, there are 2 days when you depart the hotel before 8:30 a.m.
We make every effort to immerse you in Costa Ricas incredible nature and wildlife, but sightings cannot be guaranteed. Animals are wild and may behave unpredictably keep a safe distance, stay alert, and follow your guides instructions. Many accommodations can be spread out, and you should be prepared to walk on a variety of terrains to get to public spaces like resort lobbies and restaurants.
You may need to access your room through outdoor pathways. We want you to enjoy your tour with us. Therefore, it is important that you know this tour is an adventure! You will view spectacular scenery while experiencing the culture and heritage of the region. We have selected small, comfortable hotels for their locations and they may be considered rustic.
Elevators and air conditioning are not available in most accommodations used on this tour.
Single accommodations are limited and are available on a first-come, firstserved basis. Single rate subject to change based on availability.
To complete your tour, we include round-trip airport-to-hotel transfers when purchasing our airfare with your tour. If you have arranged for your own air, we are pleased to provide you the option of purchasing these transfers. Please note that all transfers will leave at pre-scheduled times. Our transfers will depart from Playa Carrillo, Guanacaste hotel for Liberia airport. Approximate travel time is 2 hours. For air-inclusive reservations, the name provided at time of booking must match your government-issued ID that will be used during travel. Name changes are subject to penalties.

Please be advised, many airlines do not provide advance seat assignments until check-in at the airport. Advance seating will be subject to the airline's terms and conditions. Return flights should not be booked prior to 11:00 a.m. Prepaid tipping is not available on our tours therefore payment of customary end-of-trip gratuities for your Tour Manager, driver, hotel housekeepers, and cruise ship waitstaff should be handled individually when applicable during the course of your tour. Economy air rate and schedule are applicable for groups of 10 or more traveling on the same flights and dates.
Travel Requirements: Passports are required for this tour at your expense. Certain countries require that your passport be valid at least 6 months beyond the dates of your travel. IMPORTANT: We recommend that travelers take a photocopy of their passport and applicable visas. It should be packed separately from your actual passport and visa. We also recommend leaving a copy at home with your emergency contact. Collette will provide all necessary information, updates, and supporting documents for your travel requirements, including visa and Electronic Travel Authorizations (ETAs), if required, approximately 60-90 days prior to your departure.
A deposit of $698 per person is due upon reservation. Reservations are made on a first come, first served basis. Reservations made after the seat reduction date of August 11, 2027 are based upon availability. Final payment due by November 20, 2027. Deposits are refundable up until August 18, 2027.
